"It is on my mind to change things but I don't think one defeat is reason enough to abandon what we have been working on all summer,'' said the Crewe chief.
"The players worked hard on Saturday and some of the football we played was very good.
"We just needed that end product, but there is a long way to go and I still think this team can go on a decent run.''Watch Crewe Alexandra v Derby County Soccer Online broadcast. August 10

Derby will assess the fitness of defensive duo Russell Anderson and Dean Leacock.
Both players are nursing injuries after the Rams began their Championship campaign with a 2-1 win at Leeds on Saturday. Anderson (groin) was replaced at half-time while Leacock played for an hour with a knock.
Anderson is expected to miss out but Leacock could feature against the League Two club.
"We will see how they are but I don`t think Russell will make it,'' said boss Nigel Clough. "We want to put the best side out that we can without risking anybody.''
Shaun Barker, who replaced Anderson against Leeds, and Jake Buxton were on the bench at Elland Road after missing the majority of pre-season following operations and are on standby to come into the starting line-up.
The Rams will definitely be without Paul Green as the midfielder is on international duty with the Republic of Ireland ahead of their friendly against Argentina on Wednesday night.
